Most services and attractions are less than 10 minutes’ walk form Ambrosia, so if your activities are focused around the inner harbour you may decide not to rent a car. Other local transportation options include taxis, horse drawn carriages and pedicabs. There is of course public transit, and you can also rent bicycles, roller blades and motorized scooters just a few blocks away from Ambrosia.

Ferry Tip: (Plan at least a of a day for ferry travel). BC Ferries have the most sailings to and from the Island. Tsawwasen is located just south of Vancouver (50 km) and is easily reached from Seattle from interstate 5 or Highway 99 from Vancouver. You can make reservations for a particular ferry crossing which may save you hours waiting in line for the ferries. We strongly recommend this in the busy summer months and long weekends…
Seaplane and Helicopter Tip: Call and note luggage requirements to ensure you are not over their limit for luggage. Generally the Helicopter services restrict luggage to 50 lb per person.

Anacortes Ferry Tip: Anacortes Ferry service is limited and is very busy! This route has many stops along the way and ferry travel time is long (21/2 hours). Best to call ahead and make a reservation or you may be disappointed.
Victoria Express Tip: A very affordable option for walkon traffic only, to or from Port Angeles. Please note that this ferry operates only in the spring & summer months.
Seaplane and Helicopter Tip: Call and note luggage requirements to ensure you are not over their limit for luggage.
Travel Tip: Consider driving to Tsawwasen and catching a ferry. Less wait, more sailings and you can make a reservation if you wish.
